Ljeppershiem: a special place in Friesland
Where the Frisian sport fierljeppen (pole vaulting over water) was once practiced, you now find a small-scale holiday park by the water. A place where history and nature come together – and where you can truly relax.
Ljeppershiem is located in Westergeest, a small and charming village in Northeast Friesland. From here you can step right into nature: reed fields, meadow birds and water all around. The Lauwersmeer, the Wadden Sea and authentic Frisian villages are close by.
Our name comes from fierljeppen, the traditional Frisian pole vaulting over water. For years, competitions and training took place here. That atmosphere is still tangible. Where sport and tradition once met, you can now enjoy peace, comfort and nature.
The people behind Ljeppershiem: not a large resort, but a small-scale park where we welcome our guests ourselves. We value simplicity, personal attention and the peace of the Frisian landscape – and we love to share that with you.
Experience it yourself. Come and stay at this special place where history and nature go hand in hand. Discover the quiet beauty of Friesland and make yourself comfortable in one of our tiny houses or lodges.
